On 7 Jan, 2009, SACOM demonstrated at the Hong Kong headquarters of the New World China Land Co., Ltd. (owned by New World Development Co., Lt.d). On the same day, the company sent us a 38-page Statement, denying the sweatshop claims based on SACOM's interview with about 1,300 construction workers at 9 sites across 6 major Chinese cities. We are going to hold a press conference in Beijing on 10 Jan 2009. Officials from the Ministry of Commerce will be present.
