Early November, Toyota was the first auto-manufacturer in Japan to announce the termination of employment contracts for 3000 out of 6000 dispatch or short-term contract workers on the ground  of the financial crisis worldwide. Since then, the major Japanese companies followed the suit dismissing large number of non-regular workers, such as temporary workers, and fixed term workers, etc.
